Today, the development of the media, both traditional (press, books, radio, television) and more recent (Internet, social networks, smartphones, VR) makes it even more important that the Gospel, the Magisterium and the ecclesial tradition can be made present and understandable to our contemporaries, both those who have known another context and those who have already been born as ‘digital citizens’. The strength, freshness and novelty of the Gospel is something that remains unchanged, but the way of transmitting it must move with the times.

The Augustinian Recollects have been called to evangelize in mission territories, parishes, educational centers and social works. In this objective, the media have a fundamental role to play as a means of evangelization and transmission of this work to the general public.

The purpose of the communicative work of the Augustinian Recollects is to make known the work of the Order throughout the world, not to give an image of greatness, but to make known the Augustinian Recollect charism as an evangelizing tool.

As Augustinian Recollects we also feel responsible for the legacy of the work and spirituality of St. Augustine, patrimony of the Church, which we are called to share, updating its richness for the people of today.

Within the Order of Augustinian Recollects, the Commission for Communication and Publications, which reports to the Prior General, is in charge of promoting the presence and dialogue with the most current media. We are present in the world of research through periodical scientific publications (AVGVSTINVS and Recollectio), we are committed to multimedia content distributed on our website and social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and we continue to seek ways to bring the Gospel, the work of St. Augustine and the history, current affairs, mission and spirituality of the Order to the world today.
