The Order invites you to live October with a deep missionary spirit

Traditionally the month of October has been considered the month of the missions.
This month has a special meaning for the mission in relation to the discovery of the American continent and the opening of a new path in the history of Evangelization.

In his message for the XCVIII World Mission Sunday, to be celebrated on October 20, 2024, Pope Francis, taking as a reference the Gospel parable of the wedding feast (cf. Mt 22:1-14), stresses that mission consists in “going and inviting,” emphasizing the urgency and respect in the call to evangelization.
He stresses that all Christians are called to participate in this universal mission, bringing the Gospel to all, especially the marginalized.
He also relates this mission to the Eucharist, which anticipates the eschatological banquet, and calls to live intensely every Eucharistic celebration as part of the Church’s missionary commitment.

On the occasion of the beginning of the missionary month of October, the Secretariat of Missionary and Ministerial Apostolate of the Order invites you to pray in a special way for our missionary brothers and for all the missionary places that the Church has entrusted to the Augustinian Recollect Family. You can download the prayers from HERE.

In a message sent by Friar Ismael Xuruc, President of the Secretariat.
Ismael Xuruc, President of the Secretariat, he shares “some prayers that you can use not only in the Liturgy of the Hours, but also in the celebrations that you consider opportune”.
Likewise, he asks “that they pray for the preparation and the fruits of the Missionary Year and the Synod of the missionaries of the Order”, whose celebration is foreseen for the year 2026 under the Augustinian motto “Announce Christ wherever you can!”.
Thus, 2026 will be a special Augustinian Recollect Missionary Year.
