New Identity Manual of the Order of Augustinian Recollects

On January 13, 2017, the General Council of the Order of Augustinian Recollects approved the application of the new image of the OAR, determining that the MANUAL OF STANDARDIZATION OF AUGUSTINIAN RECOLLECT IDENTITY, which we present here, is binding for the entire Order. This manual wants to be the visual expression of the process of revitalization of the Order and a valuable instrument to be creators of communion.

At the moment the official organisms, institutions and companies are presented and they are recognized through their logos and marks, they remind us who they are and what they do. That is why the OAR has redesigned its image, in order to unify the image of all provinces and communities.

From the heraldic shield to the current logo
OAR Orden has been identified over the years with its heraldic shield and with different logos that show a burning heart pierced by a dart and, at its feet, a book. These symbols, used by St. Augustine, identify bases of the charism of the Order, show their identity, being, mission and sense of belonging to the Order of Augustinian Recollects.

Throughout these years this shield and symbols have suffered in a local way different color modifications or typographies that have made difficult the identification in these of the own Order. For this reason an official version of the traditional heraldic shield and a new logo that expresses the “being” of the OAR is offered.

The objetive of the OAR Identity Manual
The objective of this manual, prepared by the Augustinian Recollect Rafael Nieto, is to make known the identity of the OAR, avoid confusion with other religious orders and institutions, regulate the use of symbols and logos, and so that anyone who reads The manual will know how to apply the image of the OAR at all times.
