On this occasion we interviewed Fr. Francisco Javier Monroy, general councilor of the Order of Augustinian Recollects and president of the Secretariat of Spirituality and Formation. It has moved between Spain and Mexico and has been dedicated within the Order to two things: to give Bible classes and to the formation of seminarians and young people with vocation, etc. Now, after being elected General Councilor, he resides in Rome in the community of the Saint Ildefonso International College.
He tells us about the role of the Secretariat of Spirituality and Formation, which has four sections, initial formation, ongoing formation, spirituality and liturgy and a fourth is the secular fraternities.
He says that “training is one of the most important columns of the Order” especially in this new stage of revitalization and restructuring in which the OAR.
In addition he tells the life of the community of the International College San Ildefonso of Rome, in which 12 friars live among which there are several who are studying Sacred Scripture, Philosophy, courses for formators, etc.
