What is JMJAR?

The JMJAR responds to the acronym of World Youth Day Agustin Recoleta. It is the only meeting that brings together the Recollect Augustinian Youth (RAY) from around the world. The JMJAR lasts approximately seven days. They are days of coexistence, reflection and training. During these days, young people from all over the world share their faith experiences, learn more about the faith in catechesis, celebrate their charism in the Eucharist and meet young people from other parts of the world. In addition to their own activities, young people participate in the World Youth Day.

What are RAY?

The RAY are the Augustinian Recollect Youths. The RAY movement is a catholic and international youth organization, framed within the structure of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, and present in many of the countries where the religious develop their pastoral work. This movement arises from the desire of the Augustinian Recollects and the call of the Church to share their own charism with young people, to help them in this way in their response to the call that God makes to every human being. The young people of the RAY meet periodically and participate in retreats and coexistence where they reinforce their faith.

What is the relationship between JMJAR and WYD?

The JMJAR takes place in the antechamber of the WYD. Participation in the JMJAR includes participation in the WYD. This is due to two reasons: the first, to serve as preparation for WYD.
