Marciano Santervás, prior of Las Rozas, gave a lecture on the topic “Experiential foundation and theological-biblical bases of vocation culture”; Rodolfo Pérez, Vicar of Saint Thomas Province and Director of Colegio Sagrado Corazón of Guadalajara, discussed the dynamics of OAR vocation ministry; and Ismael Ojeda, Vicar of Saint Joseph Province, presented vocation within the framework of the pastoral ministry. Aside from the conferences, various topics, works and proposals were presented at the study days by our theological students of Las Rozas, Monachil and Torrente.
Participants of the study days were: 24 professed formands from Las Rozas (Madrid), 3 from Monachil (Granada) and 4 from Torrente (Valencia); 14 novices from Monteagudo (Navarra) and 4 from Monachil (Granada); 3 postulants from Las Rozas and 1 from Monachil. Also present were Bernardo Cerda, president of the General Secretariat of Vocation Ministry and Formation, and the formators Marciano Santervás, Ricardo Mediavilla, Rafael Morales and Jiovanny Marcelo. Other religous who attended the study days included the priors provincial of Saint Nicholas and Our Lady of Consolation, who were present at some sessions.
Fifty three Augustinian Recollect formands participated in Study Days on Vocation Culture. Other celebrations On 13 September, Luis Diego Quesada Solano, Costa Rican novice of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine province, made his simple profession. The study days ended on Sunday, September 14, feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, with the mass that had Fr. Bernardo Cerda as main celebrant. In his homily he reflected on the meaning of the Cross for the Augustinian Recollect Vocation Year.
The professed religious of the provinces of Saint Nicholas and Our Lady of Consolation, who since the first day of September had been participating in a course on Augustinian Recollect formation also in Marcilla, extended their stay in the historic convent to undergo a retreat preached by Fr. Enrique Eguiarte.
