The oficial webpage received more than 100,000 hits in its first year

The image galleries, the Augustinian thoughts, the news, the editorial novelties, our presence in the world, and the videos have been the most read contents in 2008. Specifically, the news of the launching of the webpage and that on the new sermons of Saint Augustine have been the most read, though one has to bear in mind that these were published scarcely after the launching. On the other hand, a striking fact is the huge use of the search engine, with more than 10,000 requests made in the period mentioned.

Greater presence in mass media
Although Google (39,57%) has been the first web site through which users have acceded to the Order’s webpage it is striking that various mass media (Zenit, Ecclesia, Confer, Religión Digital, Religión en Libertad, COPE, Aciprensa…) appear high on the list, fruit of the communication effort made in the last year. The Order appeared in the religious reference web pages on the occasion of the launching of the webpage, the Association of Saint Monica Christian Mothers, the document on authority and obedience, or the encounter of the OAR bishops in San Millán, which had a special coverage in the Order’s webpage, and a very remarkable impact on the press, radio and of course, the Internet.

More than 800 subscribers to the newsletter
Free subscriptions to the OAR newsletter, which is sent with every page update, totalled more than 800 and counting. The “contact us” email box has received more than 500 letters with consultations, thank yous, and inquiries… thus becoming an open window to the world and a hand that reaches out to those who wish to access the Order of Augustinian Recollects.

More than 100 titles of the online bookstore
On balance, the online bookstore has had a satisfactory year having helped bring the Augustinian culture to all corners of the world. It has more than 100 titles available and the requests received since its launching make one think that it is a good instrument to continue the work of spreading knowledge about Saint Augustine and the spirituality of the Order.
