The Augustinian Recollects inaugurate a new school building in Santa Fe

The Augustinian Recollects celebrated the 80th year of Saint Joseph Parish in the city of Santa Fe and the inauguration of an extension building constructed for the new Saint Ezekiel Moreno Secondary School. Spacious classrooms and library, laboratories with the latest technology, and faculty rooms respond to the demand of the new national education system.

Fray Marcelo Corleto, Augustinian Recollect and director of the secondary school, recalled that 80 years ago, three religious of the Order settled down in Santa Fe “without even the minimal conditions of living.”

Since then, the Augustinian community grew not only in the field of religion, but in education as well. In 1962, the “jardín de infantes” (kindergarten) was founded followed by the primary school. Now, secondary education is being offered.

The Order of Augustinian Recollects has seven communities, which run three schools and seven parishes in Argentina.
The directress of the school, Liliana Motura, declared to the local media that “it is a pride as a school, that the Order has supported us so much in these endeavors. I think about the work of the fathers, of the students who always wanted to continue in this school and they did not want to leave this academic institution. In these moments, we are happy to have all that we have and we thank God.” She added, “It is a secondary school with special emphasis on Biology, or that the children will have a laboratory that they will use. The new secondary school is equipped with all the materials related to Biology, Physics and Chemistry. In addition to the basic materials provided in secondary schools, they will also have the materials for this specialization.

The architect of the project, Sebastián Rolandi explained that “the school had already a preexisting structure, we constructed two floors more, where five rooms, a covered patio, the laboratory and library are located.
