The ceremony started with a thanksgiving mass presided by the Archbishop together with 18 concelebrants, among them were the members of the Tribunal. Four Augustinian Recollects from different provinces were also present with Fr. Samson Silloriquez, postulator general, who came from Rome.
At the end of the mass, the sanctuary was converted into a tribunal hall. Seated around the table were the archbishop, the judge delegate Fr. Jose Antonio Lancha, the promoter of justice Fr. Francisco Javier Salazar Sanchis, the actual notary Fr. Francisco Javier Hernández, and the associate notary Fr. Gustavo Conde Flores. After the singing of the “Veni Creator Spiritus”, Fr. Jose Maria Sanchez, vice postulator and member of the Historical Commission, presented a synthesis of the “iter” of the whole process of the diocesan investigation in the course of two years, from January 18, 2008 till the present.
Proofs
During the investigation 29 witnesses presented themselves to the Tribunal for their testimonies, 189 historical documents and 8 publications about Mother Isabel of the Mother of God have been gathered. All in all there is a total of 1.561 pages of documents.
Having completed the inspection of the documents, the Archbishop ordered that the three boxes be tied and sealed with wax. One of these boxes contains the original copies to be kept in the archive of the archdiocese of Toledo and the other two boxes contain the public copies to be presented to the Congregation of Saints in Rome.
The closing of the diocesan process brought about a great applause among the faithful present at the church of the Most Holy Christ of Mercy.
