For onemonth seven young men prepare themselves for their perpetual consecration to God

For three weeks, young OAR religious have the opportunity to deepen their know-ledge in anthropology of religious life, spirituality and history of the Order as well as the three characteristics of the recollect apostolate, namely the missionary, educa-tional and ministerial dimension. The fourth week is devoted totally to spiritual exer-cises using the method of Lectio Divina with texts about religious life.

Fr. Gabriel Angel Palacio is the coordinator of the month of preparation for solemn profession in America. With him is the collaborating team which is composed of Frs. Jose Uriel Patino, Ademir Garcia and Bernardo Cerda.

The seven candidates for the solemn profession come from five different countries and four ecclesiastical provinces. From St. Joseph province: Juan Carlos Fernandez and Gilbert Urbaez; province of St. Rita: Geraldo Inacio; St. Augustine: Fernando Murillo; and from Candelaria province: Jeyson Ramirez, Jorge Chaparro and Mauri-cio Villa.



For four weeks they shared experiences and community life within the historic convent of El Desierto de la Candelaria in Raquira.
Religious Life

First week dealt more on the Anthropology of Religious Life trying to inculcate the fundamental aspects that would lead them to a very important decision in their lives. It starts with the psychology of vocation, then self-knowledge, reliance, myths that obscure religious life, the evangelical counsels (poverty, chastity and obedience). They even tackled some current issues such as the considerations of Report for the coming General Chapter this october 4, 2010 in Granada, Spain especially concerning the evangelical counsels in the augustinian recollect life.
