The idea to organize such congress was previously conceived many months ahead. A group of young augustinian recollects assumed the responsibility of celebrating it with a very clear message: "Be purified/filtered: if you purify yourself and allow only the good ones to enter within you then you can decide and have the power to do so through the Grace of Christ". The event is to be held at Domo Polisport, Guatemala City.
Eduardo Verastegui and Karyme Lozano will share their conversion experiences to motivate the youth in saying Yes to Jesus Chr-ist! Yes to purity, chastity and Yes to God! This can be read in the Mexican actor's website.
Both actors had a profound experience of conversion related to their respective per-sonal adventures.
P. Axel Sánchez with Mons. Rosolino, Bishop of Zacapa and Esquipula. The congress also expects the participation of Ricardo Casta-non who is a scientist dedicated to studying and analyzing the eucharistic miracles. He will share the scientific truths and faith of these miracles.
Fr. Axel Sanchez, the spiritual director of the Augustinian Recollect Youth (JAR) is also expected to be there. He is at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and a great prime mover of this congress.
As announced by Zenith, live music will be heard in this congress, as well as the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Sacrifice of the mass will be celebrat-ed by His Eminence Rodolfo Cardinal Quezada Toruno, archbi-shop of the Santiago of Guatemala. With him are Mons. Paul Richard Gal-lagher, the apostolic nuncio in Guatemala and archbishop Emery Kabongo, who was then the private secretary of John Paul II for nine years.
Augustinian Recollect Youth (JAR). The event will conclude with the promise of the youth to freely and willful-ly live a chaste life, which consequently leads them towards holiness. This idea was emphasized many times by John Paul II.
At the eve of the encounter, many guatemalan catholic families will gather in one of the main streets/avenues of the city prayerfully making the Way of the Cross (Via Crucis). The event will end at John Paul II's monument located at the end of the same street.
