St. Augustine: Fraternus animus” and the monastic life

The article is a study on the expression "fraternus animus" which Saint Augustine uses in his Confessions (X, 4,5). He also uses similar expressions in other contexts. Who are these "brothers"? Perhaps they refer to the very brother-monks of the saint, who are better equipped to share his experience and doctrine.
