The interior lighting of the church has an advanced control system which uses a unit that controls both the lights and their intensity, depending on the needs, that is for tourists or the needs of the liturgy. The new lighting system helps appreciation and better understanding of the architectural elements and of the church furniture found in this Augustinian Recollect Monastery of Yuso, famous for its three naves of equal height.
The outdoor lighting uses floodlights with direct and discreet lighting points, which will highlight the architectural beauty of the monastery of La Rioja both in its main facade and in the tower or the inner courtyard, which houses the “Hosteria” and CILENGUA (International Research Center for the Spanish Language.)
The 160 points of light have been concealed by placing them underground, and they are located at strategic points for the correct illumination of the most unique elements of a building in the Juan de Herrera stile with the prevailing architectural designs from the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
