The persons who attend to this yearly assembly are educators, not only professors. There also will be the presence of AMPAS (Association of the Fathers and Mothers of Students), and even students, who come from all corners of Spain: from Ceuta to Santander, from Valencia to Bilbao, Who will later go back to their respective cities of origin carrying not only a folder filled with documents and notes, but a heart that is warmed by the ember of a common and assumed educational proposal.
Last year the Augustinian Aula counted on the participation of 50 professors and religious coming from the 9 colleges and educational centres under the direction of the Recollects in Spain: San Agustín of Valladolid, Romareda of Zaragoza, Seminario Menor Agustiniano and Colegio Sagrado Corazón of Guadalajara, Augustiniano de Madrid, Sainto Tomás deVillanueva of Granada, San Agustín of Chiclana (Cádiz), Santo Tomás de Villanueva of Salamanca and Centro Educativo San Agustín of Motril (Granada).
The secretariat of the Augustinian Aula is under the responsibility of an Augustinian Recollect Enríque Gómez.
Lectures and Workshops
Juana Sánchez Gey, professor of Philosophy at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, will give the first lecture entitled “La educación y la familia actual: fortalezas y debilidades (Education and the Family of Today: Strengths and Weaknesses). Joseán Manzanos, professor and teacher and educator in Ecuador and Vitoria, will complete the morning with the theme “La educación en la interioridad: una mirada hacia el futuro” (Education in Interiority: A Look Toward the Future). Joseán himself will animate the workshop on interiority with which the afternoon will begin, before giving way to the experiences of the Augustinian colleges of “Los Negrales” (Madrid). “Sagrado Corazón” (Tarrasa. Barcelona) and “La Inmaculada” (Gavá, Barcelona). The titles of these three communications are: Educación en los valores agustinianos (Education in Augustinian Values: The Life Together”, “
Canalización de las emociones: hacia una pedagogía emocional” (The Channelling of the Emotions: Towards an Emotional Pedagogy”), and finally, “Itinerario formative del laico desde la interioridad” (“The Formative Journey of the Laity from the Interiority”).
On Sunday, after the Eucharist, the third and last lecture is planned. The Augustinian Miguel Gumersindo will speak on “La Escritura como espejo que ayuda a entender la interioridad agustiniana” (“The Scripture as Mirror that Helps for the Understanding of the Augustinian Interiority”).
