These 26 religious started the year 2016 dedicating the entire month in renewing one’s way of thinking and knowledge. This course has for its principal purpose giving the participants four weeks of intensive time for prayer, living together and study.
This course is a requirement to make in every ten years for all the religious members of the Order and is organized periodically every two years by continents.
Renewal Course for America
This Renewal Course, just like all the others, will devote its first week to the study of the recollect charism in the history of the Order. This will be given by the historian Angel Martinez Cuesta, who purposely came from Rome, together with Pablo Panedas, president of the General Secretariat of Spirituality and member of the organizing team of the Course.
The second week will be devoted to the study and reflection on St. Augustine; in this Year of Mercy, in which we are in, a special emphasis will be particularly made about this topic. This second week will be led by Enrique Eguiarte, an expert on Augustinian topics.
The third week will be devoted to the prescribed spiritual exercises, under the direction of Carlos Maria Dominguez, Augustinian recollect. And finally, various current themes will be given on the last week, like the Jubilee Year of Mercy or the Synod of the Family, just recently celebrated.
Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe
A sort of complement to all this daily activity, are also planned sporadic outings of religious and formative character. Among these stands out the pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in the city of Mexico.
