Monsignor Alfonso Gallegos was a Bishop Augustinian Recollect who is recognized for his extraordinary dedication to the needs of Hispanics and the poor. The Augustinian Recollect Bishop exercised his pastoral ministry with joy and hope among the neediest in the state of California, working especially for immigrants, elders and young people, devoting much time to the formation of the latter.
