The 55th General Chapter of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, celebrated in Rome from the 3rd to the 26th of October 2016, has approved the Life and Mission Project for the Order 2016-2022. We hope that this Project will bring with it life, generate communion based on our Augustinian Recollect identity, and drive us on in the mission of evangelization which we, as we are, have in the Church today. Its implementation will help us to continue going forwards together, with the grace of the Spirit, in the process of revitalizing the Order.
“Creators of Communion” is the slogan put forward by the Chapter as our term of reference for the next six years. It is only by humbly opening our hearts to Christ and to the love of the Father that we will be able to be creators of communion. The Spirit impels us to walk in communion with all the Church and to share our charism and our mission with lay people, in order to announce the Gospel with joy and renewed hope. “With our witness of a living community open to what the
Lord asks of us, and by means of the breath of the Spirit, will we be able to respond to the needs of everyone with the same love with which God has loved us”.
