The OAR refuses the violence and violence that is living in Venezuela

Today, May 5, the Prior General of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, has written a letter to all the communities of the Order to express the rejection of the situation of oppression and violence that is currently being experienced in Venezuela. This shows the support of the OAR to all Venezuelan citizens and the Augustinian Recollects present there.

Miguel Miró recalls the trust “in the mercy of the Lord” and emphasizes that the OAR and all its communities and brothers feel “united with all who come to encounter and defend life, liberty, human dignity and democracy, helping To build every day the civic coexistence in peace and fraternity”.

On the other hand, he encourages the Augustinian Recollect brothers of Venezuela to “live boldly their prophetic mission of being creators of communion, and to accompany all who suffer without any kind of exclusion,” and asks the whole family to recover. We pray personally and in community especially for Venezuela: the Augustinian Recollects of contemplative life, religious women, lay fraternities, JAR communities and the faithful of our ministries.
