ARCORES Organizational meeting of the Philiippine branch of ARCORES (Augustinian Recollect Solidarity Network) participated by the members of the General Council of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters and the Commission on Social and Ecological Concerns – Recoletos last July 28, 2017 at the Generalate of the AR Sisters in Quiapo, Manila. The meeting agreed to adopt the existing statutes of the ARCORES with the common understanding to make it more relevant to the Philippine situation.
Br. Jaazeal Jakosalem, OAR facilitated the meeting, the following points were emphasized: the necessity of creating a network, the need for cooperation in the many social ministries of the Augustinian Recollect family, the enhancement of the JPIC-related programs, and also the importance of communication (the plans and projects, the completion, etc.) to the ARCORES international and national networks.
During the meeting, the AR Sisters mentioned the continuing support of Haren Alde in the scholarship program of the students in Liminangcong, Palawan and in Alang-alang, Leyte. It was also suggested that ARCORES -Philippines will coordinate with the ARCORES International office the ongoing social concerns related initiatives.
