On March 7 and 8, 2024, more than 30 members of the school management teams of the EDUCAR Network in Spain met in Guadalajara. These were two intense days during which the progress made at the regional level on the decisions taken at the VII EDUCAR Meeting, held in November 2023 in Guatemala, was shared, and new objectives for the coming months were projected.
Among the topics addressed were the guidelines for the selection and performance evaluation of school personnel, the revision and updating of the Institutional Educational Project and the Augustinian Pedagogical Bases, the Dictionary of Competencies and the Model for the evaluation of the management of the charism, which has now been integrated into the MELIOR certification of excellence for educational centers of the EDUCAR Network.
In the words of Fr. Juan Luis GonzalezAccording to the coordinator of the EDUCAR Network in Spain, in these meetings it is “very interesting to see the shared mission, how some years ago we were only friars, and now most of them are very committed lay people”.
There was also an opportunity to reflect on such relevant topics for educational managers as the illusion of educating from the identity and mission entrusted to them, or the guidelines to be taken into account for communication in crisis situations.
These regional meetings are also an opportunity to share the work of the work teams: Educational and Pastoral Guidance, Training and Personnel Selection, Communication and Technology.
