The JAR, agents of hope in Cafayate

The Augustinian Recollect Youth (JAR) of Argentina, responding to the call of the Augustinian Recollect Bishop Mons. Darío Rubén Quintana, have carried a cape your second mission national at the city Argentina of Cafayate.

From January 26 to February 6, 2024, a group of 25 young people from different Recollect ministries in Argentina will be immersed in an evangelizing work in the region of the Calchaquí Valley, in the northwest of Argentina. For twelve days, they visited nursing homes, hospitals and squares, blessed homes and businesses, and accompanied the inhabitants of the city in various activities.

In addition, the young missionaries actively participated in the Eucharistic celebrations and offered special intentions for different groups of the community (the elderly, children, the sick, families and the consecrated). They have also collaborated in the local picnic area and in the Prelature’s radio station, where they have participated in daily programs centered on the faith, the Magisterium of the Church and topics relevant to the Church today.

The JAR youth have defined this experience as an opportunity to grow in their faith and commitment to those most in need. In the words of one of the participants, “This mission has allowed us to feel an active part of God’s work on Earth. We have experienced the joy and love that comes from sharing the message of Christ with those who need it most.”

The missionary dimension is a fundamental pillar of the RAY movement, in which young people, in fraternal community, bring the message of Christ to all those in need, with special emphasis on the poor and marginalized of the Kingdom. This mission strengthens their faith commitment and also contributes to the integral development of the community of Cafayate, inspiring hope and solidarity in every heart they encounter along the way.
