In Imum Cordis Training School: Learning from the heart

Augustinian Recollect priest Fr. Javier Monroy presents the “In Imum Cordis” Training School, of which he is also director. This institution aims to provide training in leadership and mentoring through various online and face-to-face courses.

The formative proposal of the International School, which was created from the last General Chapter of the Order, integrates learning and experience: the school is a response to the challenges of formation within our Order and also for external evangelization. It is a school based on two major themes: ecclesial leadership and accompaniment.

The formation of the school is directed to leaders and companions in the evangelizing service of the Church: we want to form parish priests, priors of communities and directors of schools, and teach them to coordinate evangelization from the Augustinian Recollect approach . In addition, Fr. Javier explained that the courses offer Augustinian and recollection tools that will help you to have a fuller Christian life, especially if you want to dedicate yourself as a Catholic to the ministry of accompaniment or if you have been called to exercise the service of ecclesial leadership.

Among the courses are programs for formators in seminaries and formation houses, family and youth ministry, as well as seminars, workshops and diploma courses for initial and ongoing formation in consecrated life: the testimonials we have received are very positive in terms of experiential learning. We provide theory, but above all we seek learning from the heart, from the depths of who the person is.

Also noteworthy is the formation of pastors and leaders of ecclesial and social ministries, community priors and those responsible for services of ecclesial authority, and leaders of the Augustinian Recollect family such as the fraternities or the Augustinian Recollect Youth. Monroy highlights the Master’s Degree in Psychospiritual Accompaniment, which currently has 35 participants from 14 different nationalities, as an example of the school’s impact and scope.

Likewise, Fr. Javier stresses the importance of an experiential and transformative approach to training: we want all this to become evangelization and transformation of the person to help others. The school focuses on forming leaders who can coordinate evangelization and teach how to effectively accompany people, whether in religious communities, schools or parishes: is a fundamental taskconcludes Monroy, referring to the need for accompaniment as a method of evangelization.
