The International Solidarity Network ARCORES has presented its Report 2023, which details the achievements and activities developed during the past year, as well as its future plans and the evolution of its finances.
The publication highlights the dedication of the Augustinian Recollect Family and the support of partners, volunteers and institutions that have made possible the development of these activities and their great social impact.
Growth and Expansion
During 2023, ARCORES Spain has experienced significant growth.
The strategic plan that will guide the organization until 2026 has been approved in order to consolidate its presence in different autonomous communities in Spain.
This growth includes an enhanced commitment to the Plan B Foundation and the launch of the CaminAR project in the Nuestra Señora de Buenavista parish in Getafe (Madrid), aimed at providing companionship and leisure activities for the elderly to combat loneliness. loneliness.

Social Projects
One of the most significant projects of ARCORES is the Program for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons.
This program, implemented in the schools of the Augustinian Recollect Family and other participating institutions, has developed educational materials and conducted workshops to foster the culture of care among young students and teaching staff.
In addition, the Jornada Corazón Solidario 2023/24 campaign has joined forces to support international projects such as the Cartoneros de Buenos Aires (Argentina), the comprehensive protection of teenagers and young pregnant women in Guamote (Ecuador), and the rehabilitation and reopening of the MatulemaBa Afrika job training center in Kamabai (Sierra Leone).
Plan B Foundation has been another fundamental pillar in supporting families at risk of exclusion.
In collaboration with ARCORES, this foundation has promoted the Casa ARCORES-Casa Europa, a space dedicated to the dynamization of European volunteering and social participation in the Pizarrales neighborhood of Salamanca.
This project not only offers shelter to young volunteers, but also promotes integration and community development.
Volunteering and Community Support
Volunteering continues to be a key part of ARCORES’ operations.
In 2023, the number of volunteers has continued to increase, with a total of 107 national volunteers involved in various activities.
These volunteers have played a crucial role in initiatives such as school support for immigrant children in Madrid and Valladolid, and care for the homeless and elderly in Granada and Madrid.
Projects such as the Caritas Children’s Centers in Vallecas, Madrid, and the Creciendo Juntos program in Leganés have been instrumental in providing academic and social support to children and young people in vulnerable situations.
Likewise, collaboration with the Santiago Masarnau Shelter and Social Integration Center and the CaminAR program in Getafe have made it possible to offer essential services and companionship to the homeless and the elderly.
In particular, the Gabriela Project in Brazil has been an example of comprehensive intervention.
This program provides care to girls from families in vulnerable situations and at risk of sexual exploitation, defending their rights and improving their living conditions through the delivery of basic food baskets, school supplies, and the improvement of facilities in Belo Monte and Foz de Tapauá.
Future Plans
Looking to the future, ARCORES Spain plans to continue expanding its activities and consolidating ongoing initiatives.
The strategic plan approved until 2026 foresees new social action initiatives in other Spanish cities such as Chiclana, Zaragoza and Salamanca.
In addition, collaboration with entities such as Caritas and the Plan B Foundation is expected to be strengthened, broadening the scope and impact of its projects.
