August, the month of St. Augustine

With the arrival of August, the Augustinian Recollect Family around the world prepares to celebrate the life and legacy of St. Augustine on the 28th.
But this month also offers an opportunity to get to know other saints and to commemorate other feasts that celebrate Augustinian spirituality.

Over the next few weeks, the Order is promoting various initiatives and activities through its social networks. social networks.

Important days in August

The month of August is full of significant dates for the Augustinian Recollect Family.
Besides the feast day of St. Augustine, August 28, there are other important dates to remember:

– Blessed John of Rieti – August 2

John of Rieti was an Augustinian priest and hermit who dedicated his life to prayer and the service of others.
Born in Italy, he is remembered for his austere life and dedication to preaching the Gospel.
His commemoration day, August 2, is an opportunity to reflect on humility and commitment in the spiritual life.
Pope Gregory XVI confirmed the cult of this Augustinian Blessed in 1832.

– Saint Clare of Montefalco – August 17th

Clare of Montefalco, also known as St. Clare of the Cross, was an Augustinian abbess famous for her mystical experiences and devotional life.
