We're telling you

We celebrate St. Augustine’s Day with faith and music

Like every August 28th, the Augustinian Recollect Family around the world unites today to celebrate the feast day of St. Augustine, our patron saint and a central figure in the history of the Church.
This day marks the culmination of a month filled with reflections on his life, teachings and the spiritual legacy he left behind.

Throughout this month of August 2024, several videos have been shared on the social networks of the OrderIn these questions, all the members of the Augustinian Recollect Family were invited to answer different questions such as “Which is your favorite Augustinian saint”, “How did you know Saint Augustine” or “What is your favorite phrase of the saint”, among others. This initiative has allowed that the Augustinian Recollect Family from different parts of the world can connect and share your love by the former bishop of Hippo, and thus highlight the influence he has had on their lives.

New Spotify and Apple Music channel

To commemorate this day, the Order has also launched its own music channel on Spotify and Apple Music under the profile ‘Recoletos Music’.
On these platforms you can find the albums: “Embrace of True Love” and Peregrinos”, as well as more than ten singles including titles such as “Busquemos Juntos la Verdad”, “Quienes Aman Caminan”, and “La Ciudad de Dios”, among others .
All the songs are inspired by prayers or the life of St. Augustine.

“He who sings, prays twice.”

Music has always been a powerful means of transmitting profound messages and through these songs we intend not only to offer moments of praise and reflection, but also to share a way of meditating on Augustinian values and teachings.

In fact, St. Augustine himself said that he who sings, prays twiceIn this way, it is hoped that the songs will touch the hearts of those who listen to them and bring them closer to a deeper experience of God.

On this day of St. Augustine, all members of the Augustinian Recollect Family are invited to unite in prayer and that, following the teachings of St. Augustine, we seek truth and love in every action of our lives.

Happy St. Augustine’s Day!
