Prior General visits communities in Mexico and the U.S.

The Prior General, Friar Miguel Angel Hernandez, has begun his visit to the communities in Mexico and the United States.

This trip, which begins in the Latin American country and will last until mid-November, has the objective of getting to know the religious, the ministries they serve and the laity of these countries.

This visit comes on the heels of his last fraternal experience in the communities of the Amazonwhere he had the opportunity to get to know first hand the realities of the mission in that region.
Now, the Prior General has explained that with this new tour he intends to get to know the religious of approximately 23 communities, as well as the ministries they serve: “I want to hear first hand the history of the different places where we are present, the work we carry out, the challenges we face and, of course, the dreams and projects we have”.

In addition to his meetings with the friars of each community, Fr. Miguel Ángel will also meet with lay collaborators, including members of the Secular Fraternity and the Augustinian Recollect Youth (JAR ).
In Mexico, his agenda includes a visit to several monasteries of Augustinian Recollect nuns, and his participation in the celebration of the opening Eucharist of the VII Assembly of the Federation of Monasteries on September 18, among many other activities.

The visit has begun in the municipality of Tecamachalco and will continue along several cities of Mexico, such as Puebla, Chihuahua, Querétaro or Mexico City, among others.
During his stay in these places, the Prior General will have the opportunity to know closely the work of the religious communities and the reality of the apostolic projects of the Order in the country.

The trip will last until November, concluding in the United States.

 

Itinerary in Mexico (September 15 – October 15):

Saturday 14: Arrival in Mexico.
Tecamachalco.
Sunday 15: Visit to the community of nuns in Tecamachalco.
Wednesday 18: Celebration of the opening Eucharist of the VII Assembly of the Federation in Puebla.
Sunday 22 – Saturday 28: Visits to Chihuahua, Delicias, La Junta and Cuauhtémoc.
Friday, October 11: Transfer to Querétaro for the Solemn Profession of Fr.
José Antonio Hernández.
