Augustinian teachers in Caracas unite to promote educational inclusion

Last Friday, November 8, the EDUCAR Venezuela Network celebrated the II Intercollegiate Augustinian Pedagogical Encounter, gathering more than 270 teachers from the five schools that the Provincial Vicariate of Venezuela has in Caracas: Colegio Fray Luis de León, Colegio San Judas Tadeo, Colegio Agustiniano Cristo Rey, Colegio San Carlos Borromeo and Colegio Santo Tomás de Villanueva, which on this occasion was the host of the event.

The day was guided by Katerine Nunes, director of the Great Geniuses Educational Growth team, who, together with her collaborators, guided the reflection on curricular adaptations for neurodiversity. This topic, of great relevance in the current educational context, has a profound impact on classrooms, from kindergarten to high school. Teachers explored strategies to recognize and value the neurological diversity of students, promoting inclusive and empathetic learning environments.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of listening, reflection and commitment, highlighting the importance of adapting pedagogy to the needs of each student and fostering inclusion as a fundamental pillar of Augustinian education. The participants committed themselves to continue advancing in the formation of more inclusive educational communities, where each child and young person can develop their potential to the fullest, regardless of their differences.

With initiatives such as these, the EDUCAR Network (Augustinian Recollect International Educational Network) reaffirms its commitment to a transformative education, which not only imparts academic knowledge, but also cultivates values of respect and solidarity, fundamental for the construction of a more just and equitable society.
