The Augustinian Conference on Education 2025 will be held in Madrid on February 8 and 9.

On February 8 and 9, 2025, the Colegio San Agustín of Madrid will be the meeting point for educators of the educational centers of the Spanish Augustinian Family in the 21st edition of the Augustinian Classroom of Education. This annual congress, consolidated as a formative reference, will deepen the mission of the Augustinian teacher under the title: “Mission of the Augustinian teacher: educator and witness”..

This year, the event is structured around four presentations that offer a comprehensive approach to educational work from an Augustinian perspective. The first, entitled “Our educational centers and their evangelizing action today”, will be in charge of .will be in charge of Mr. Juan Manuel de Alarcón, who will analyze how Augustinian educational centers can be living spaces of evangelization in a changing cultural and social context. His intervention will highlight the proper character of these centers, based on a pedagogy with God as a background, as stated in the document “The Character of an Augustinian Educational Center”.. In the second session, “In the second session, “Why me? Why me? For whom me?, D. Oscar Alonso will invite a personal and introspective reflection that connects with the pedagogy of interiority promoted by St. Augustine, seeking to inspire educators to rediscover their vocation as spiritual and academic guides of the new generations. The third block, entitled “Sharing the God of Life through Music.”will be an innovative lecture-concert led by Mr. Nico Montero, a renowned singer-songwriter in the field of Christian music, who will explore how music can become an effective channel for transmitting values and experiences of faith. Finally, the lecture “And you, teacher, what are you selling? Attitudes of the Augustinian educator”, by Fr.Isaac Estévez, will close the series by addressing the key attitudes that an Augustinian educator should adopt. From authenticity to coherence in the testimony of life, the impact of the teacher as a model for the students will be analyzed.

More than two decades training educators

This meeting, organized by the Education Commission of the Spanish Augustinian Federation (FAE), celebrates its 21st anniversary, reaffirming the commitment of the FAE with the integral and spiritual formation of teachers. Each edition becomes a space for sharing experiences, reflecting on educational challenges and strengthening the Augustinian identity of educational centers.
