Yearbook 2024 is now available!

The Yearbook 2024 is now available! This new edition collects the most important moments of the past year and invites us to reflect on the power of small gestures under the motto “Do you aspire to great things? Start small (Sermon 69)”. Throughout its pages, the yearbook takes us on a journey through the different communities of the Order, highlights stories of dedication and testimonies of faith and also presents the new projects that were born in 2024.

The yearbook is divided into several sections:

Initial Reflection and Message
This year, the motto that accompanies us is clear, inspiring the 69th Sermon of St. Augustine. In the opening letter of the Prior General, Fr. Miguel Angel HernandezWe are invited to value the everyday, to recognize the greatness in the simple and to rediscover the importance of community.

Great moments of the year
From the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the presence of the Augustinian Recollects in Venezuela to the Missionary Congress of the Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno and the meeting of Augustinian Recollect bishops in Brazil, the yearbook compiles the events that have marked this year 2024.

Graphic memory
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and this section proves it. Through a selection of photographs, we can relive the most significant moments of the year: visits to missions, community meetings and the tireless work in different provinces.

Voices with history
One of the most special sections of the yearbook is dedicated to interviews and testimonies of those who, through their work and vocation, have left their mark on the life of the Order this year. In this edition, the Secretary General, Fr. Luciano Audicio, has shared a close look at this year’s challenges and achievements. Fr. Luciano stressed the importance of keeping the Augustinian Recollect mission alive in an ever-changing world. He also spoke about the efforts to strengthen synodality, the role of formation in religious life and the need to always be attentive to the needs of the most vulnerable communities.

Another outstanding testimony is that of Fr. Alonso RestrepoAlonso, who opened his heart to speak about his journey of evangelization. From his early years in the Order to his present work, Fr. Alonso shared experiences that reflect the essence of the Augustinian Recollect mission: closeness, service and love of neighbor. Through his words, we have known the reality of the communities he has served and how, in every corner of the world, faith continues to be a fundamental pillar for many people.

In addition to these two main interviews, the yearbook collects stories and testimonies of missionaries, educators and pastoral agents who have worked tirelessly in their communities. These are stories that reflect the day-to-day life of religious life, the joys and challenges of the apostolate, and the impact that small actions have on the transformation of society.

– Education and pastoral mission

The Yearbook 2024 highlights the advances and projects that the EDUCAR Network has developed throughout the year in the different Augustinian Recollect educational centers. One of the main focuses has been the continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and the implementation of new methodologies based on the Augustinian pedagogical model. The expansion of vocational accompaniment and youth ministry programs has also been highlighted.

– ARCORES action in 2024

The solidarity work of the Augustinian Recollects also has a prominent place in the Yearbook 2024, where the most significant projects developed by ARCORES, the international network of solidarity of the Order, have been presented. Among the most relevant initiatives of the year are humanitarian aid programs in communities affected by economic crises and natural disasters, as well as the strengthening of educational and food security projects in different regions of the world.

The yearbook also includes stories of mission and service of volunteers and religious who have carried out these initiatives in contexts of vulnerability. It highlights, for example, the work in areas of Africa and Latin America, where the presence of ARCORES has provided concrete opportunities for the development of marginalized communities.

The yearbook, which will soon be available in other languages, is an open invitation to discover everything that has happened in our community this year 2024. Don’t miss it!
