Lent begins: 40 days to renew faith and spirit

This March 5, Christians around the world have begun Lent, a forty-day period of spiritual preparation leading up to Easter. The day begins with Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting and penance in which the faithful receive ashes on their foreheads as a symbol of conversion and renewal.

Precisely to accompany this Lenten journey, the Order has proposed a series of videos on social networks that, until Pentecost, will help to reflect on the Gospels and the message of Lent.

These videos will have a split-screen format and will address fundamental themes such as forgiveness, waiting, prayer and fortitude. For this, different viral images such as carpets, slime or mazes will be used to help understand these concepts in a more dynamic and different way.

Each reflection will be framed, in addition to the season of Lent, in the context of the Jubilee Bull 2025in which Pope Francis stresses the need to forgive and to open one’s heart to others.

The first video was made by Fr. Alfonso and has focused on forgiveness using the image of carpets as an analogy for spiritual transformation and restoration: “How would you like to get to Easter? I think we would all like to be the nicest, cleanest carpets in the world.”

In addition, in the different social networks of the Order you can find a daily reflection and a challenge that will help you to renew your faith, strengthen your spirit and live the Gospel with hope in this time of Lent.
