Augustinian Recollect Family Encounter 2025 leaves a mark of communion and joy

The Encounter of the Augustinian Recollect Family has become a space of communion, reflection and celebration for all its participants. The days, marked by a deep sense of fraternity, revolved around key themes such as community, solidarity, shared charism and spiritual life. The personal experiences shared by the participants reflect the intensity lived during these days. “It has been a very pleasant experience, because we have worked on very sensitive aspects for us, such as the sense of community and solidarity”, expressed one of the participants.

For many, the encounter was a true rediscovery of Augustinian Recollect identity.

“It has been a real meeting of brothers, in which as a family we have recognized and integrated ourselves into the charism. I am very grateful.

Even those who arrived with doubts or reticence ended up deeply moved. “I didn’t want to come… And it was tremendous! I’m 77 years old and I’ve never danced before. But seeing the nuns dance, I think I’m going to start now.” said Gerald Wilson, delegate in England.

In addition to being a forum for sharing experiences of mission and service, the meeting was an opportunity to make visible the diversity of vocations that enrich Augustinian Recollect spirituality:

“It has been a very rich experience. To make known what we do as Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the sick, and to discover in other fields of work the same spirituality”.

Among the most valued moments, he highlighted the climate of shared prayer and the feeling of closeness generated: “Our prayers are no longer just from a distance. Now we feel that we are really a family and we know the faces for whom we are praying”.

The meeting concluded with a strong sense of unity and hope. “I leave with great enthusiasm to continue working on formation and interior life. It has been very rich, very fruitful. May God bless the whole Augustinian family,” said Sister Sofia, Superior General of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the Sick, as she said goodbye.

Once again, the spirit of the Augustinian Recollect charism has demonstrated its vitality, capacity for convocation and renewing force in this global embrace that is truly a sign of the times.
