A new In Imum Cordis course trains young RAY accompaniers

Training to accompany with the heart

The Augustinian Recollect Youth (RAY) have promoted a new formative proposal in collaboration with the school In Imum Cordis: an international course in youth ministry, created to strengthen the service that many young people already exercise in their communities. The program seeks to offer practical tools, pastoral criteria and an integral vision of accompaniment from being and doing, faithful to the Augustinian Recollect spirit.

An itinerary designed for real life

The course lasts six months, divided into six thematic modules. Each module combines synchronous meetings with specialized professors and in-depth activities during the month.

Participating in this first edition are 40 young people with experience in leadership or animation within the Augustinian Recollect Youth, as well as 3 religious involved in pastoral accompaniment. From different regions of the world, the participants share the common desire to serve with greater preparation, spiritual maturity and ecclesial responsibility.

As Rubiela Cuadra, from the JAR international team, explains:

“Many times someone is asked to accompany, but is not always trained. This proposal wants to respond to that need, providing a solid foundation from doctrine, listening and service.”

An answer that leads the way

The course is the first international training proposal designed specifically for the RAYs. Its reception has been positive, and work is already underway on new initiatives to deepen the training path and also promote cultural exchange among the delegations.

More than a course, this experience is intended to be a school of the heart, where service is born as a free response to God’s call, and where youth accompaniment is lived as mission and commitment.
