Bogota hosts Ongoing Formation Encounter for Augustinian Recollect friars

The Colombian capital is the venue of the Ongoing Formation Encounter that brings together more than twenty Augustinian Recollect religious from three provinces. Under the motto “Make me remember you”, the eventthe event, which will be held from August 10 to September 1, combines prayer, study, community life and formative workshops to strengthen the charism and personal growth.

A space for vocation renewal

The Curia of the Province of Our Lady of Candelaria, in Bogota, has become the meeting point for religious between forty and fifty-five years of age who are living this stage of specific formation within the Order of Augustinian Recollects.

More than twenty friars from different geographic demarcations and three provinces participate in this program, which seeks to strengthen charismatic identity, foster personal development and offer theological and human tools for life and mission.

Comprehensive training with an experiential method

The program combines expository lectures with spaces for dialogue and practical workshops, with the objective that the contents are not only understood, but also lived. The sessions will be given by the Augustinian Recollects Sergio Sanchez, Javier Monroy y Germán Rodrígueztogether with the spiritual advisor and Fr. P. José Víctor Orón.

Each day is divided into three sessions: two in the morning and one in the afternoon. The rest of the day is marked by times of prayer, reflection and fraternal sharing, favoring an atmosphere conducive to the internalization of what has been learned.

The organizing team has made every effort to ensure that the event takes place in an atmosphere of serenity and concentration. The careful logistics and the fraternal environment allow the participants to fully dedicate themselves to their formation, sharing community life and faith experiences.
