The Lar Santa Mônica, a work of the Augustinian Recollects in Fortaleza (Brazil), has once again been recognized for its commitment to the life, education and dignity of girls and adolescents in vulnerable situations. The international organization UNESCO, in alliance with the program Criança Esperança of the TV Globo channel, has approved for the third consecutive year the financial support to the IntegraSer project, which is developed in this shelter.
Thanks to this partnership, Lar Santa Mônica will receive 150,000 Brazilian reais to continue its work of social transformation. The IntegraSer project offers comprehensive support to girls and adolescents who are victims of violence, abandonment or family neglect, promoting the recovery of their rights and their inclusion in a safe, formative and affective environment.
A mission that transforms lives
The Lar Santa Mônica team, together with the ARCORES Brazil Solidarity Network, sees this support as recognition of the concrete value of its mission. “This partnership with UNESCO is proof of the real impact that the project has on the lives of the girls served,” the center says. The support will strengthen training, psychological and personal development activities, contributing to a real reconstruction of lives marked by pain.
