The EDUCAR Network, in collaboration with the Communications Office of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, announces the First Augustinian Christmas Carols Contest. A creative and pastoral proposal to live Christmas through music, faith and charism.
A Christmas with Augustinian Recollect rhythm
The joy of Christmas will be made music in the Augustinian Recollect schools. The EDUCAR Network, in collaboration with the Office of Communication of the Order, announces the first Christmas Carols Contestdirected to all the educational centers of the international network.
Each school may submit one unpublished carolcomposed and performed by members of their educational community: students, teachers, families and administrative staff. The objective: to unite voices and talents to sing the coming of the Lord from the spirituality of St. Augustine.
Criteria for participation and submission
To participate, centers must submit their proposal by December 5, 2025 at 12:00 noon (Spanish time) to the following e-mail: comunicacion@oar.it. Each carol must include:

Language: Spanish, English or Portuguese (additional score if all three are used)

Quality audio

Video of the recording process

Document with names, complete lyrics and explanation of the creation process.
An award with international projection
The winning carol will be announced on December 8 on the new web site recoletos.org, and will receive a prize of $250. In addition, it will be broadcast on the official channels of the Order and uploaded to the platform Recoletos Music on Spotify.
The jury will be composed of a member of the General Curia, a representative of the Communications Office and a representative of the EDUCAR Network.
Music, faith and community
This initiative seeks to celebrate the mystery of Christmas “with creativity, faith and joy”, in the Augustinian style. As we read in the announcement: “Although St. Augustine did not say that he who sings, prays twice, we believe that he does”. And this Christmas, the whole Augustinian Recollect educational family is invited to sing and pray as one voice.
