Educating with heart: ARCORES and Red Educar join forces in a new international volunteer program

Five educators participate in a transformative experience in Sierra Leone and Venezuela thanks to the agreement between ARCORES and Red Educar, strengthening the educational mission of the Augustinian Recollect family.

A partnership to educate across borders

The agreement between ARCORES and Red Educar has made possible a new form of international volunteer work for educators. This summer, five teachers will travel to Sierra Leone and Venezuela to share their experience and heart in educational centers of the Augustinian Recollect family.

“A service to move hearts and transform lives.”

This is how Javier Sanchez, director of ARCORES International, defines the new agreement signed between ARCORES and Red Educar, which allows teachers from the educational centers of the Augustinian Recollect family to volunteer internationally this summer.

For the first time, this initiative offers educators the possibility of collaborating in educational projects in countries such as Sierra Leone and Venezuela, mutually enriching the local communities and the volunteers themselves.

Professionals with a missionary vocation

This summer, five educators are part of this experience. Two of them are in Sierra Leone, accompanied by veteran volunteers such as Ernest and Sara, who have already completed several international missions. There, they are integrated into local educational processes, offering support in areas where the system cannot meet all the needs, and sharing their pedagogical experience.

In Venezuela, three professors specialized in teaching English are developing workshops with children and also with teachers, strengthening didactics and methodology in three educational centers linked to the Augustinian Recollect family.

“The goal is not just to give classes,” says Sanchez., explains Sanchez, “but to foster a true collaboration between educators, a pedagogical dialogue between cultures that strengthens the bonds of fraternity.”

An experience that leaves its mark

The interview, conducted at Madrid-Barajas airport moments before the flight to Venezuela, reflects the excitement and commitment of the volunteers. They know they are embarking on a demanding but deeply meaningful experience.

“They enrich themselves with what they bring, and they enrich themselves with what they find,” he says.emphasizes the director of ARCORES.

This international volunteering is a living testimony that educating, in the Augustinian Recollect family, goes beyond the classroom: it is sowing hope, building community and announcing the Gospel through closeness, service and dedication.
