New publications for September announced by the Institute of Augustinology

The past six years and in collaboration with the editorial firm, Ciudad Nueva, the Institute of Augustinology of the Order of Augustinian Recollects has worked for the publication of the first volume of the “Obras Monásticas de San Agustín”. In addition it also produced various works of Augustinian Recollect authors, foremost among whom, is Fr. Jose Anoz. The religious is responsible for the completion of volumes XIII and XIV of the “Obras Completas de San Agustíín”, which have been appearing in the collection of the editorial firm, BAC (Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos). Fr. Javier Ruiz, also an Augustinian Recollect, was responsible for the release of volume IX.

Other names include Jose Antonio Galindo (San Agustin. Doctrina Espiritual), Teodor Baztan (Palabras para el Camino), and Imanol Larrinaga (Ejercicios Espiruales). Jose Antonio Galindo, John Oldfield, Teodoro Calvo Madrid, and Jose Anoz collaborated in the second volume of the book, El Pensamiento de San Agustín para el Hombre de Hoy, which was edited by Edicep. In the third volume of this same book that will see print this September, the names of Jose Anoz, Enrique Eguiarte, Jose Antonio Galindo and John Oldfield, also appear as collaborators.

There is also much collaboration in the journal Augustinus, which, under the direction of Enrique Equiarte, counts on the contribution of the members of the Institute, other religious of the Order, and eminent personalities in the area of Augustinian studies. These past six years alone 28 Augustinian Recollects have published one or more articles in the only journal that is dedicated fully to the study of Saint Augustine.

The director of the Augustinus who was conferred recently a doctoral degree by the “Instituto Patrístico Agustiniano de Roma” – an event witnessed personally by the members of the executive committee of the OAR Institute of Augustinology – informed the board of the articles already in line for publication these next three years. Among those who have committed to publish their works in the journal, are prominent names in the present-day Augustinian studies. He also shared his vision on how to extend the reach of the Institute to the Order and toward further studies of Augustinian thoughts.
