The General Secretariat for Vocations and Youth makes available the materials for the celebration of the week of prayer and promotion of vocations.
The guide for the OAR Vocation Week 2020 is now available for download. The General Secretariat for Vocations and Youth has prepared a publication of more than 100 pages that offers different options for the celebration of the week of prayer and promotion of Augustinian Recollect vocations, which is celebrated annually by the Augustinian Recollects in the ministries of all countries.
The document includes a script for the celebration of the opening and closing Eucharists of the week, lectio divina, the holy hour for vocations, a Taizé-style prayer and a vocational rosary.
The guide for Vocation Week incorporates a vocational catechesis in which it calls to think about God’s call to the Christian, understanding the Christian as a prophet who commits himself to the Gospel message. Likewise, it presents the lives of four saints as references of consecration to God: Saint Teresa of Jesus, Saint Peter Claver, Brother Bartolomé de las Casas, Saint Ezequiel Moreno, Saint Teresa of Jesus and Saint Oscar Romero.
He also proposes and explains various activities to work with the students of the educational centres during Vocation Week 2020, revolving around the pastoral directive ‘We are prophets of the Kingdom: poor, social projects, peripheries’. There are activities to be put into practice with children from 5 to 18 years of age.
There is no specific date for the OAR Vocation Week; each country will celebrate these vocation days depending on its calendar and preferences.
