We're telling you

United against the coronavirus

The Augustinian family invites you to join the day of prayer for the victims of the COVID-19 and the end of the world emergency of the coronavirus on March 20.

The emergency situation that the world is experiencing these days demands unity. With the aim of creating communion, the Augustinian family has called for a day of prayer ‘United against the coronavirus’ on Friday 20 March to pray for those infected and killed by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for the world crisis it is causing.

For this purpose, the Institute of Augustinian Spirituality of the Order of Saint Augustine has prepared a simple prayer script. It consists of the prayer of Psalm 90, a reflection of St. Augustine and a moment of joint prayer. It can be done in community or individually.

The day of March 20 is seconded by the Order of St. Augustine, the Order of Augustinian Recollects and the Order of Discalced Augustinians, as well as their religious families. The Augustinian family has come together in these difficult times to face uncertainty with united hearts, thus forming one soul.

Prayer of the European Church for the coronavirus

God our Father, Creator of the world, almighty and merciful, out of love for us You sent your Son into the world as the doctor of our souls and our bodies,

look upon your children who, in this difficult time of confusion and dismay in many regions of Europe and the world, turn to you seeking strength, salvation and relief,

deliver us from illness and fear, heal our sick, comfort their families, give wisdom to our rulers, energy and reward to our doctors, nurses and volunteers, eternal life to the dead. Do not abandon us in the moment of trial but deliver us from all evil.

We ask this of Thee, who with the Son and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

Mary, mother of health and hope, pray for us!
