Meeting of the Ministerium Sapientiae Team in Rome

The Ministerium Sapientiae team met at the General Curia in Rome from May 6 to 10, 2024. This team, composed of Fr. Enrique A. Eguiarte, Msgr. Carlos María Domínguez, Fr. Bruno Nicolás D’Andrea and Fr. Tomás Ortega, has evaluated the activities designed for the years 2023 and 2024 that are being implemented in all the demarcations of the Augustinian Order.

During the meeting, the Augustinian Spiritual Exercises, monthly retreats and ongoing formation materials were discussed in detail. The success of the previous year’s retreats, entitled Together. Bringing the charism to life from the Gospeland the current implementation of this year’s exercises focused on the topic of Do you aspire to great things? Start with the small ones. The value of small things in the psalms.

However, the team’s sights have been set on the future. The themes and dynamics for the Augustinian Spiritual Exercises for the year 2025 have been planned under the title. Pilgrims of hope. Hope does not disappointin line with the Jubilee called by Pope Francis for that year. These exercises will continue to address three fundamental pillars: the Word of God, Augustinian spiritual doctrine and the magisterium of the Church.

The synodal method, which has included prayer, dialogue, discernment and hard work, continues to be the cornerstone in the selection of themes and elaboration of materials.

Msgr. Carlos María Domínguez, one of the team members, had the honor of holding a private audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace prior to the meeting. In addition to discussing private matters, the Holy Father sent his blessing to the team members and their future work.

At the conclusion of the meeting, on Saturday, May 11, the members of the Ministerium Sapientiae have returned to their communities with various tasks and responsibilities, aimed at preparing the materials for the Augustinian Spiritual Exercises and other tools for spiritual growth, in line with the theme of hope, for all members of the Augustinian Recollect family.
