Religious and friends of the community participated in the celebration presided by Fr.
Francisco Javier Tello, Provincial of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova.
After a year of novitiate, Adrian and Patrick now begin the next stage of formation, which will take place at the theologate in Granada (Spain), together with a group of professed students in the Faculty of Theology of the Loyola University of Andalusia.
In his homily, Fr. Javier Tello said that this was “a day of joy. Especially in this place as special as Monteagudo, at the feet of the Virgen del Camino, where so many religious have made their first profession as Augustinian Recollects. It is a reason for thanksgiving to God and a petition that these young people may follow St. Augustine, that they may be restless, that they may seek the Truth, that they may not stop until they meet the merciful God”.
The words of Friar Adrian Quiroz were words of thanksgiving.
Adrian Quiroz were words of gratitude: “I thank God and all those who have accompanied me in this experience of the novitiate in Monteagudo. It is an immense joy to follow Christ from the Augustinian Recollect charism”.
Fr. Patrick Souza expressed his feelings after the celebration indicating that “on this day of simple profession, I am grateful for the time of novitiate, which has been a gift of God in my life. Today I rejoice with the whole community of brothers, giving a response to the Lord of my heart and my life.”
Since the end of July, a new group of twelve novices will begin their novitiate experience in Monteagudo.
One of those responsible for accompanying this year will be the novice master, Carlito Gomes, for whom “it is an immense joy to be able to accompany the experience of these young men in the novitiate, to see how God is acting in their lives. It is also a great personal apprenticeship”.
The celebration could be followed live via streaming and is available on the Facebook page of the Monteagudo novitiate.
