The RAY invites to live the faith as a shared journey

On the occasion of the feast of Saint Alipio and Saint Posidiopatrons of the Augustinian Recollect Youth (Augustinian Recollect Youth, JAR)the general team of the movement has sent a message full of gratitude, inspiration and hope. In it they encourage the whole Augustinian Recollect Augustinian Recollect family to live the faith as a shared journey, to cultivate friendship in friendship in Christ and to renew the commitment to be pilgrims of hope in this Jubilee year and in the 30th anniversary of the Augustinian Recollect Recollect Youth.

Alipio and Posidio: masters of friendship and mission

The message begins with a phrase of St. Augustine about Alipio:

“Whoever knows us both, would say that we are two, more than by soul, by body; such are our concord and loyal intimacy” (Ep. 28:1).

From this spiritual friendship, the Augustinian Recollect Recollect Youth highlight the witness of St. Alipius and St. Posidius as faithful companions. faithful companions in the search for God and in the proclamation of the Gospel. They lived the faith in community, in service and in shared prayer. They were true friends in moments of light and darkness.

“Their lives teach us that friendship in Christ is a fire that transforms life and calls us to mission.”

30 years of history, faith and Augustinian youth

The message takes on special relevance in this year 2025, when the RAYs celebrate 30 years of shared journey in the Church. Since its inception, the movement has promoted a Gospel experience in a youthful, communitarian, Augustinian youth, community, Augustinian and Recollect..

“They illuminate our present and remind us who we are: young people restless for Christ, who walk towards the Truth with joy and commitment.”

This anniversary also coincides with the Jubilee of Hopea providential occasion to reinforce the call to be joyful witnesses of the Kingdom of God. joyful witnesses to the Kingdom of God in the midst of the world.

Pilgrims of hope, friends in faith

Far from falling into a nostalgic memory, the JAR launches a bold and current proposal:

“Let us renew our commitment to live the Gospel radically.”

That means building authentic ties, deepeningdeepening the inner lifeto let oneself be impelled by the missionand to be light and salt in a society in need of hope, meaning and community.

“The Lord calls us today to be light in the midst of darkness, to form living communities that proclaim the Kingdom of God with deeds.”

Let the love of Christ burn

The message concludes by invoking the intercession of St. Alipius and St. Posidius, so that love for Christ and his Church may burn in young people as it did in their hearts. may burn in the young people as it burned in their heartsand that faith may be incarnated in friendship in friendship, fidelity and daily commitment..

Signed by Dalma Veron and Rubiela Cuadramembers of the JAR general team, this message is not only for young people. It is an invitation to the whole Augustinian Recollect family to walk together, in community, as brothers, as friends… as pilgrims of hope.
