In this month of St. Augustine, the Augustinian Recollect family raises a prayer of gratitude to God for the gift of our Father. We celebrate with joy his life, his teaching and the fire that he kindled in us, a fire that keeps us “restless for Christ”..
The motto that unites us is not just a nice phrase. It is a way of life: a constant search for God that translates into service, community, mission and commitment to the world. Every friar, every religious sister, every young person and every lay person who shares our charism lives with the certainty that “our heart is restless until it rests in Him”.
The heartbeat of a family restless for Christ
Augustinian Recollect life unfolds in multiple faces and realities, united by the same call. In different corners of the world, friars, nuns and religious consecrate their lives to God, sustaining communities that pray, serve and announce the Gospel.
In our educational centers, more than 80,000 students grow up accompanied by 5,000 educators who are part of the Educar Networknetwork, transmitting values that inspire life and hope.
In the projects of ARCORESprojects, solidarity becomes a concrete gesture: a presence in almost 300 places where hands are stretched out, wounds are healed and the future is sown. In the ARCS, thousands of young people experience the joy of sharing their faith, while the Monica Mothers intercede every day for their children with perseverance and love.
Our parishes welcome living and open communities; holiness processes remind us that the Gospel is incarnated today; and the missions take us to the most distant places, where we continue to say with our lives: “Lord, we are here for you”.
Gratitude and renewed commitment
“Restless for you” is also a time to renew our commitment. It is to remember all that God has done in our history and to say yes to him again. It is to live without rest, without turning back, with confidence in his grace.
You and only you, Lord, make us for you. You stir the soul, you inflame it. You make our breast restless, you do not let us flee: until in you, Christ, we can rest. Help us to take you where you are not, to die tired of loving so much, to live without respite, without turning back, to live, Lord, restless for you!
