The Augustinian Recollect family is made up of the various women's congregations, the youth movements and the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity. All of them live the Augustinian Recollect charism with their own peculiarities.Augustinian Recollect Nuns
The Augustinian Recollect charism is shared by the monasteries of Augustinian Recollect nuns, born at the same time as the Order of Augustinian Recollects and with the same spiritual aspirations as the first Recollects. Through their contemplative life, the sisters highlight this fundamental dimension of our charism.
Augustinian Recollect Missionary Sisters
The Augustinian Recollect Missionary Sisters live their vocation through mission, bringing the message of Jesus Christ to the whole world through the charism of St. Augustine and the spirit of the Recollection. Its objective is to achieve, in the midst of the world, to live in fraternal community and in continuous interiority.
Augustinian Recollect Sisters
It is a congregation that originated in the Philippines, near the shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Manila. Her secluded and devout life soon attracted the attention of her foundresses until they formed the congregation a short time later. The education of rural youth is their main occupation.
Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the Heart of Jesus
Present in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. are dedicated to the exercise of charity in hospitals, nursing homes and orphanages. To a lesser degree, they work in pastoral education, teaching in the schools they own.
Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the Sick
The work of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the Sick, present in Colombia only, is linked to the St. Ezekiel Moreno Foundation, which cares for cancer patients and their families.
Augustinian Recollect Secular Fraternity
The members of the Secular Augustinian Recollect Fraternity who, as lay people, commit themselves to live the Gospel in the light of the experience and spirituality of the Order, also belong to the Augustinian Recollect family and participate in its ideal, its graces and its fruitfulness.
Augustinian Recollect Youth
In the 19 countries where they are present, the Augustinian Recollects aim to form a Christian youthful laity that joyfully lives a spirituality based on love and friendship, and feels united to the family.
Bishops
There are 23 Augustinian Recollects around the world who, chosen by the Holy See, carry out their pastoral work as bishops in different dioceses of Spain and South America. Although they do not participate in the active life of the Order of Augustinian Recollects, they are part of the family as they continue to live the charism.
