Strengthening the Life and Mission of the Order

From April 15-19, 2024, the General Council and the priors provincial held a meeting in Rome.

During this meeting, held at the General Curia from April 15-19, 2024, the General Council and the priors provincial met to discuss various topics on the life and mission of the Order. From community life to vocation ministry, including care for minors and vulnerable adults, evangelizing digital communication, and the development of initiatives to strengthen ongoing formation. Each item on the agenda reflected the Order’s firm commitment to its charism and its service to those most in need.

The priors provincial, representing the different provinces, shared their experiences, challenges and hopes. He especially emphasized the interest in deepening the commitment to solidarity and formation, as well as strengthening the missionary spirit in all dimensions of the Order.

“These days have been an opportunity to live communion and become aware of our fragilities and challenges,” shared Fr. Carlos González, Prior of the Province of St. Nicholas of Tolentine. “But they have also been days of commitment and reaffirmation of our life and mission project”.

In addition to the topics discussed, the importance of the Secular Fraternities and the Augustinian Recollect Youth (ARY) as fundamental pillars for the expansion and consolidation of the charism of the Augustinian Recollect Order was highlighted.

The meeting also served as a platform to review strategic projects such as ARCORES, EDUCAR and INQUIETAR, which seek to promote the integral development of the communities in which the Augustinian Recollects are present. As highlighted by Fr. Javier Tello, Prior of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, “to show each other that we continue to follow the same path towards God in the same life that we all want is essential”.
